Services

There are several parts to the Interior Design process, and if you’re new to renovation, this can be overwhelming. For some clients, it can feel like ‘I don’t know where to start’, and for others, they may have clear ideas and only need with certain aspects, like technical drawings, colour advice or the right furniture choice for a particularly tricky layout. Below are a list of all the design services I offer, in which you can choose what aspects you’d like help with, and which aspects you’ve already got covered.

Sometimes a fresh coat of paint, a re-configured floorplan and some new furniture can make an apartment feel like new. The Interior Styling and Furniture Layout service I offer includes a 2 dimensional (2D) floorplan of your entire apartment, and a furniture layout, color palette, and furniture and interior styling items list for whichever rooms you choose to redo. I also provide all the links to the suggested furniture and styling items, so you can order and purchase them directly.

2D floorpan & furniture layout

If you want to go beyond just some new furniture and a coat of paint, and see how a re-configured layout can work 3D prior to renovating, then taking that one step further and having Interior Design for your home is the way to go. Designing for rooms in this aspect gets a little more complicated, as the requirements of a room without plumbing is a lot more straightforward than say a kitchen or bathroom,. For that reason I’ve separate out Interior Design for individual rooms into room types:

Any room without plumbing

Includes: 2D Floorplan of layout, 3D visuals and overall moodboard of colours, fixtures and finishes to communicate the overall Kitchen design aesthetic. Can also include: Visiting a recommended Kitchen supplier with the client, and providing advice on fixtures & finishes (for eg; cabinetry, worktop, tiles, tapware, cabinet handles, bar stools etc)

Kitchen Design

Includes: 2D Floorplan of layout, 3D visuals and walkthrough, and overall moodboard of colours, fixtures and finishes to communicate the overall Kitchen design aesthetic. Can also include: Visiting a recommended Kitchen supplier with the client, and providing advice on fixtures & finishes (for eg; cabinetry, worktop, tiles, tapware, cabinet handles, bar stools etc)

Bathroom &/or WC Design

Can also include: Fixtures & finishes shopping list. For example; Tiles (based on calculated amount needed for the space), bathroom furniture, sanitary items like shower, faucet, bathtub, and styling items

03. Project Managing your renovation

On my first renovation project, I totally underestimated the time, details, specifications and I hate to say it spreadsheets, needed to make a renovation project run smoothly. From sourcing the right trades, to quoting, ordering materials and finishes, ensuring those items deliver when they’re needed, Project Management is a full time job of it’s own. When I Project Manage a renovation, I make sure all the detailed design decisions made in the design phase come to life as planned on site. I work with a great group of Tradesmen, so together we’d make the whole renovation a simple, smooth process so its not as scary or overwhelming as it may first seem.

04. Construction of your renovation

I work with a great group of Builders, Plasterers, Plumbers, Painters and Tilers whom I introduce clients to, and then assist in both the quoting process (which trades would invoice you directly for) and working alongside those trades to make sure all the detailed design decisions made in the design phase come to life as planned on site. Its common that design needs to shift and change on site, once construction begins as the building itself reveals both opportunities and sometimes challenges once demolition has commenced.

Micala is such a good listener. She incorporated things we’d said in
passing into the design, it totally feels like our home and we love living in it.
